Adrian is affectionately known as "Shark Bait". He bites a lot... but it's not really his fault. Adrian was a prop in a magic show. Yes, that is the truth. He and his ex-wife Powder came in together after being removed from a Magician while he was being arrested. Powder gave birth to Adrian's kids and split to head to a different foster home. She has yet to reunite with him, and frankly, Adrian is unsure if any amount of "I'm sorry" will help him forgive her.
Adrian lives with our director Heather. She has a soft spot for spicy black and white buns like him (if you ever had the privilege of meeting Genie Boo, Adrian is his reincarnation!)
Adrian is easily triggered by hands. Do NOT reach at him from above. Do NOT touch his ears. He WILL latch on to you and not let go, with zero warning.
Adrian is an older man and has severe arthritic changes thru his spine. He is also very attached to his alfalfa hay and will boycott any other flavors. Grass hay is for peasants, and he is no peasant! (Joking aside, it is really not good for him...) His affinity towards high fat/calcium alfalfa has caused him to develop bladder sludge, and he sometimes has accidents. We are working on it. Mixing Oat hay and Alfalfa "seem" to be working. He also has soft stools, because he is not getting enough fiber. Yes, he has spoken with a vet and Heather. He said he is old and in pain. He wants what he wants. It's Heather's job to worry about the falling pieces. Of course, Heather will do everything she can to help him see the errors of his stubborn ways, but in the meantime, anyone who is interested in this spicy ball of sass needs to know what they are getting into. Like most of us, he is still a work in progress.
Now that you think he sounds awful, and you think Heather needs a mental health check for loving him, let me tell you about his cuddles. Once you get him picked up, you can literally hold him for HOURS! Not kidding. Make sure he is comfortable, and he melts into you. But do NOT let him free roam your house. He will bite everything. The couch, the chair legs, the dog toys. If it fits in his mouth, he bites it. Fingers and toes included! Or your shin, if you step in his cage with no pants on. Oh yeah, he will also grab onto your clothes like a gator and try to pull you into his pen. He's cute, but not easy!
I wrote my honest truth about the little man. I truly do love him. Even though on paper, we both now sound crazy.
